I stared out my picture window at a steady downpour, almost unsure of how to enjoy
the free time of the inevitable cancellation. The irony is I was free, not because
of too much rain, but not enough! Earlier I received a call from the Seneca A.D.
informing me that due to the lack of rainouts they had to cancel some perfectly
playable games that they had overbooked in anticipation of rainouts.

As umpires, we are held to higher standards at all times and it requires doing the
correct thing at all times. You have to be neutral, and not care what the stats
are of the teams/players because this will influence your decision process. You
never win being "buddy - buddy" with the coach or players. Be a Professional all
the time!
